Inaugural T&F Championship Set for Saturday

PELION, S.C. – For the first time, the New South Athletic Conference will host a track & field championship meet on Saturday, April 18.

“Needless to say, we are beyond excited to add track & field to the conference lineup,” said commissioner Mike Davis. “Including both men’s and women’s teams, this brings the number of NSAC sports offerings to ten. That means more student-athletes than ever before will be able to compete and achieve their dreams. It’s going to be a great day.”

SC Central Christian College is the host for the event, being held at Pelion High School, 600 Lydia Drive, Pelion, South Carolina. Along with the Gladiators, Beacon College, Denmark Tech, and URBE University will participate.

Admission is $10 for adults (ages 16 and up) at the gate. Field events will begin at 11:00 am with track events starting at noon.

Two ‘Jaylens’ are T&F Athletes of the Week

The Beacon College track & field team had a great showing recently at the Embry-Riddle Elements Classic. Blazers female long jumper Jaylen Williams finished 6th overall (3 pts.) with a leap of 17’2.75 and also ran a 12.4 in the 100m.

Her teammate on the men’s side Jaylen Diamond threw the shot put 26’10 (8.18m).

(Maybe it’s in the name!)

The New South Athletic Conference is pleased to recognize Jaylen AND Jaylen as our first T&F Athletes of the Week!
