DENMARK, S.C. – By unanimous vote, the New South Athletic Conference Board of Directors has approved the membership of Denmark Technical College effective immediately.

Denmark Tech holds dual affiliation with the USCAA and the NJCAA. Earlier this month, the Lady Panthers accepted an invitation to the USCAA Women’s Basketball National Tournament in Buffalo, New York as the 5th seed before falling to 4th-seed Bryant & Stratton-Buffalo in the quarterfinals.

“We appreciate you all for accepting us into the conference,” said DTC athletic director and women’s basketball coach Javon Gilliard. “We will represent the conference with first class and pride. We have one vision and that is to take NSAC to another level.”

“I have enjoyed getting to know Javon and his staff over the past several months as we worked through the application process,” added NSAC commissioner Mike Davis. “Denmark Tech will undoubtedly bring stiff competition and a well-run program to the conference while expanding our fields in several sports. I’m excited to have the Panthers in the house.”

DTC will participate in multiple NSAC sports, including men’s and women’s basketball, men’s soccer, men’s and women’s cross country, all beginning with men’s and women’s track & field at next month’s conference championship.
