Apprentice Captures Inaugural NSAC Golf Championship

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Apprentice School men’s golf team captured its first conference championship Tuesday, winning the first ever New South Athletic Conference Championship at The Divide Golf Club.

Parker Wells won the tournament to be named individual medalist. After a 5-over 77 opening round had him one stroke behind teammate Chris Ivey, Wells shot 1-over 73 in the final round to best Ivey by one shot.

Kai Crockett was the third Builder on the leaderboard, shooting a 163 as an individual participant in the tournament.

The Builders claimed the top spot with a team score of 632. Mid-Atlantic Christian was second at 677.

Beacon College golfers also participated as individuals.

Apprentice and MACU now prepare for the USCAA Nationals October 13-14 in State College, Pennsylvania.

NSAC Golf Championship Coming to Charlotte

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The inaugural New South Athletic Conference golf championship will be held September 28-30, 2025 at The Divide Golf Club. Barber-Scotia College is the host school.

Teams from The Apprentice School, Beacon College, and Mid-Atlantic Christian University will compete in the 36-hole event. There will be a practice round on Sunday, October 28 with tournament play beginning Monday morning, October 29.

Opened in 1995 and located about 20 minutes southeast of Charlotte, The Divide Golf Club features a traditional 18-hole golf course design by John Cassell II. The club’s name, The Divide, derives from the fact that it stretches across both Mecklenburg and Union Counties.
