Henderson Leads All-Conference Picks

Adriana “AD” Henderson of SC Central Christian has been voted the Most Valuable Player for the New South Athletic Conference and leads the All-Conference team for 2026.

Henderson, a freshman guard from Lexington, South Carolina, received the most ballots in voting by the league’s coaches following a standout performance in the NSAC Women’s Basketball Tournament last month. The Gladiators team captain averaged 16.2 points per game and nearly five assists per game, scoring or assisting on nearly half of her team’s points in conference play.

“Congratulations to AD and to all the young ladies for an outstanding season,” said conference commissioner Mike Davis. “The athletic ability and skill was certainly not in short supply this season, and I’m already looking forward to seeing many of these talented student-athletes back on the floor next year.”

Millennia Atlantic put four players in double figures to hold off a second half rally and defeat Beacon 60-54 in the tournament opener. The Macaws built a 16-point lead early in the second half, only to see the Blazers storm back to take a one-point lead with about five minutes to play in regulation. MAU was able to take advantage at the free throw line to retake the lead and put the game away in the closing minutes. Jada Sinclair led all scorers with 17 points.

In the nightcap, South Carolina Central used a dominant second and third quarter surge to roll past Mid-Atlantic Christian 96-46.

Atlanteans, Blazers Set to Meet for 2025 Title

RALEIGH, N.C. – In a season filled with attrition, the New South Athletic Conference and its member school leaders have set February 15 as the date for the 2025 NSAC Women’s Basketball Championship between Atlantis University and Beacon College.

The season began with four teams vying for postseason glory, but hardships and injuries within the program forced Apprentice to cancel its season in December. Mid-Atlantic Christian has also struggled with a shortened bench and elected not to participate in the conference tournament. The Blazers and Atlanteans have also experienced challenges throughout the season.

“In spite of the circumstances, it is important for us to provide this opportunity for a title for the young ladies,” said NSAC commissioner Mike Davis. “My thanks to Atlantis and Beacon for making this championship game possible.”

The match will be hosted by Atlantis in Miami. The All-Conference and All-Academic teams will be announced on February 17.
