New South Athletic Conference Baseball Player of the Year Sergio Hernandez has signed a professional contract to play for the Red Pocket Mobiles in the Pioneer Baseball League this summer.

Hernandez, who posted an impressive regular season .433 batting average with 28 doubles, three triples, two homers, 26 RBI’s and 34 runs scored, led his Millennia Atlantic team to the NSAC title on May 2.

The Pioneer League is one of four Major League Baseball (MLB) Partner Leagues in the American independent baseball league system without MLB team affiliations. The league consists of 12 teams from California and the Rocky Mountain region.
